So i found this yesterday at a pawn shop.

It was $150 i was wondering if it was worth getting or should i pass..

Lots good chorus pedals now.

Ud be stuck with rack if you bought that.

Rather have a pedal.

Cool unit. Has a 'stop sweep' on the back, which essentially stops the rate of the chorus, giving it a pitch shift kinda feel. I'd say grab it, but don't pay $150 - if you can get it for $100 or less, you got a deal.

I have a friend that has a few rockman items, they sound awesome. If you have the money to spare go for it, if you dont like it, I would like to think you can just sell it on ebay for about the same, maybe loose 25.00 if you want a fast sale... I have had bad luck with pawn shops when trying to get a discount... its not like the old days thats for sure..

I have a Rockman Stereo Chorus. It's a very nice unit. The sweep-stop control pedal turns off the chorus sweep, leaving you with a short delay, giving you a doubling effect. It's either 20 or 40 milliseconds, depending on normal or long chorus mode. I like that. $150 sounds about right to me.

If you give it a try, try to use both mono and stereo. Stereo makes a big difference. If you have a Rockman rig, you would probably use a Sustainor or Distortion Generator to drive it. If you are using it with a normal guitar amplifier, you probably want it in the effects loop. I made a couple of videos. You might want to check them out.

The first one is clean guitar:

The second with distortion:

I dunno, dude on ebay is tryin' to get 20k for the Rockman pre

Maybe the stereo chorus is worth 3 or 4 grand

There are some pretty crazy asking prices. The Pro Bass Rockman and PGE 2 equalizer (Rockman Studio Series) are particularly rare. The Rockman Stereo Echo is another that has become rather prized.

Hey, on another subject, if you want to see Rockman gear in action, Boston is on tour right now. Their web site says they are playing Long Island, NY today.

Tom Scholz shows off his Hyperspace pedal in the Sound Machine video. I was really happy to see that. I don't have one of those.

That pawn shop price is kinda high...grab it for round 100-125.00...Now, evil bay is waaaay outta hand for almost any rockman stuff.....still looking for someone to take the plunge and make a hyperspace pedal..note: if you succeed, you"ll be one in demand dude for sure.

Ah yes, demand is up. Anyone have a Rockmodule or other Rockman gadget collecting dust in your pile of gear? It might be time to add it to the supply ;)

I found a video from Boston's current tour. Lots of Rockman gear ;)

I had a Hot Watt II in the 80's that I hot rodded a 50 watt JMP in the 80's sometimes and I have one now.

Theyre loud and kinda cool but I would never play with one now.

My Roomate/bandmember had a Rockman when they came out in 1982' or so, they cost almost $400 bucks which was a lot of scratch considering I bought my first Marshall JMP 2204 for $375.

That lead guitarist in Boston the tall skinny one played with Sammy Hagar in the late 70's & 80's he's Awesome.

Bostons lead singer was singing sharp that whole song above.

Brad Delp committed suicide a few years ago by lighting charcoal grills in his bathroom with no ventilation.

What a weird way to go.
