Rocktron PatchMate Loop 8

Anyone have one of these? I am highly interested after reading it's feature (especially the channel switching)
I don't even know how to look this up but perhaps one of you gentlemen could answer my question:

I have an amp that uses a stereo jack for footswitching. if you put a mono cable in it only switches the fx loop. Would Rocktron PatchMate Loop 8 still be able to switch channels assuming I used a stereo cable from the patchmate to the footswitch jack?

Simple answer: No

What you would do is use an insert cord (Stereo 1/4 on one end, two mono 1/4 on the other end split ring/tip). Connect the stereo end to the foot switching jack, and connect the tip of the other end to one loop on the PM8, and the ring to another loop on the PM8. You'll have to experiment with which jack to put the mono end into on the PM8 (N.O. or N.C., depending if you want the light "ON" when the effect is on or "OFF" when the effect is on.)

It sucks because it chews up two loops on your PM8, but it definitely works (Provided your switches are latching-style and not momentary-style).
