I've heard of him, know he built for Sambora and some others and have done the requisite web search, but does anyone here know much about him / the guitars? What's a sensible buying price for a Schoepher logo'd guitar? (I don't want to overpay for basically a ghost built Kramer)..

Theres not much info about Rod out there. I used him for set ups back in the day. Honestly I dont think he built much of anything. More like assembled or prepared would be a better word. He certainly didnt have a woodshop at his house that I saw.

The guitars that he "built" will have a Schoepher inlay on the back of the headstock(usually these are Kramers that he prepared for an artist). Some will have his name on the front of the headstock but these were usually parts guitars that he assembled.

Somewhere out there is a red Kramer Striker (Cheap import plywood body) with a Scheopher neck on it. It was my buddies guitar. He broke the neck and Rod replaced it with one that had his name on it.

I wouldnt pay any more for a Schoepher prepared guitar then what that model guitar would normally go for...

Thanks for the reply! That was kind of my suspicion of what might have been the case, just because he was fairly low profile whereas someone like Buddy Blaze is known to have built stuff...
