He’s always been a prick, but I kind of liked that about him. I voted for him the first time around because he came in with a plan. He had a good run following that plan but by the time the 2nd election came around all he did was shit talk Biden. And while he is very good at shit talking, his lifestyle and history is too fucked up to resort to shit talking. That’s not a battle he is going to win

I’ve always felt he was a liberal in conservative clothing anyways. He’s smart and he’s an opportunist, and running against Hilary was a good opportunity. The dude lived his life in absolute excess. He was down for whatever.
If he stuck to the business side of his job he would have done all right. I don’t believe he personally has any issues with abortion or gays. But his voters do and they are his ticket to ride. Navigating those waters were not his strong point and well here we are

I had no problem with Desantis during the pandemic (I’m in Ft. Lauderdale). Looking at things through the lense of “did more people get sick because the less-than-strict lockdown measures?”, I think that’s highly debatable no matter which way you look at it. It’s not like people were running around freely down here without masks, we still had plenty of protective measures in place. Still stood in line to go into Home Depot 20 people at a time, restaurants were doing take-out only instead of nothing at all, and then mixing in actual effectiveness of the jab, it’s all a crapshoot that would only serve as a battleground.
That said, I fucking hate identity politics and I’m vehemently against anyone restricting the rights of other human beings. I lean FAR more traditional libertarian (not the LINO bullshit that started once Trump took office, that shit completely ruined the libertarian party more than the idiot libertarians were). When forced to pick between “Identity politics seeking to extend rights to others“ or “identity politics restricting rights of human beings”, restricting rights will lose every time with me. I’m also vehemently opposed to running the country based off any religion. Period. One does not need a deity to understand right from wrong.
I just want to get 2024 over with. The idea of voting for anyone currently on the table makes me nauseas.

That shit lasted about a week here….except for the schools…. And the board of education members were almost tarred and feathered a few times. Lot of it was what part of the state you were in.

One size doesn't fit all was probably the biggest problem with Covid.
San Diego is a big metro with people crossing a US border daily to go to work,
and tons of air travelers and vacationers. Fucking masks were everywhere!
Read a story today about a small town of 5,000 people so I mapped them.
I can see why the folks of Marlin, Texas would be pretty pissed about being forced to mask up.

I thought Cuomo actually did a good job with it in NY. Normally I would say he’s a total jerkoff that bends over the entire state that isn’t the city, but seeing as NY was getting slammed with Covid while other parts of the country didn’t even believe it was real, he took the bull by the horns and did what he thought was right. He’s still a shmuck but I respect him for that.
