Fixed.... the ultimate band. :D

A sad day but he's left us with some great music to remember him by. Truly an iconic voice and presence in rock.

I probably listened to the Holy Diver album more than any other (with the exception of Diary of a Madman) in the early/mid 80's...he was easily the best singer in metal IMO.

I didn't get to see him live until the first Heavan and Hell tour a few years back...I was amazed that his voice was a strong as ever, he hadn't lost a thing.

Sorry Ozzy fans but Heaven and Hell was THE best Sabbath album by far. Dio brought out the best in everybody.

rainbow and black sabbath were best with dio as the frontman. not to mention the ozzy songs dio sang live in sabbath are epic.

Loved his voice and all he contributed to music. My tribute was done last Halloween!

HOLY DIVER!

RIP Dio. I never met him but my brother said he was the nicest rock star he ever met.

I hadnt been listening to metal seriously in years when my brother reluctantly convinced me to go see Heaven and Hell at Madison Square Garden last year. I was so glad I went (and even more so now obviously) because I was in sheer amazement at the power of his voice. His vocals were incredible for someone at any age and far superior to most singers 40 years his junior. But the fact that he still had IT in his mid 60s at 5'2" was just ridiculous.

Thankfully we have a great body of work he left behind to enjoy and celebrate.

Doug Aldrich is such a solid player.

Man, no doubt. Damn, what tone and playing. Great lineup there.

RIP RJD, you ARE a great one!! One of the best ever IMO.

I posted this at HCAF a little while ago, seems fitting for this thread, too!

HAD to share this one!

Like many of us here, my ipod has pretty much been locked down on all Dio/all the time for the past couple of days, and just a few minutes ago, as I pulled up to a stoplight CRANKING Dio's "Gypsy" on my stereo with the windows down, I heard the guy next to me honking his horn. I looked over and no shit, dude is throwing up the double-devil horns and singing along at the top of his lungs! What else could I do but throw 'em back and join in! We sat there singing with Dio until the light changed, dude was shouting "DIO FUCKIN' RULES!!!" as I took off, holding the lefty-devil horn in the air out the window for the next block or so.

Kinda made my day, really! :rawk:
