Made this real quick to test out how well it handles low tunings. You can tell it's sloppy because of the high strings resonating back at the beginning. :lol: :LOL: Threw a limiter on it to keep it from clipping, and I'm too lazy to fix the volume differences at the moment.

Chain: Caparison Horus HGS MF w/ Duncan Custom -> Tuner -> Boost -> ISP -> 5150 III -> Mesa Trad. 4x12 -> SM57 -> Apogee Duet

No real post production going except a HP, LP and that Limiter to prevent it from clipping.

Edit: Big thanks to Jeff Hilligan for selling the amp to me. :rock:

Custom made boost pedal (basically a TS with some heavy asymmetrical clipping and an addition boost feature to really kick it up a notch) and Channel 3 for both the rhythm and leads. I forgot to mention I have the Intellifex going on during the leads, but it's just a basic delay. EQ settings on the amp between the rhythm and lead is nearly identical with the leads just having a bit more mids and a hair less treble.

Hey Tommy, that clip sounds real great. Sounds like it's tight, or is that the boost?

Boost made it tighter. I'm playing at very low volumes, and to get that kind of tone without a boost would require a lot more volume, it seems.

Sounds real nice. Turn down the mids just a tiny bit and you'll be set.

I love the way you trem pick, it sounds like Gojira.

Awesome tone and playing, Tom!!!
.. sounds H U G E !!

Mean and heavy...just the way I like it. Sounds great dude. :rock: What are you tuned to?

:rock: :rock: Sounds great! Like said above, I think you should lower the mids a little

Thanks. The guitar was tuned to B. I'll work on scooping out the mids some more next time I do a clip similar to this. Keep in mind that the mid knob was around 9 o'clock on this clip, so there's not much left to scoop. :lol: :LOL: For my next clip, I actually wanna crank the mids and get an oldschool Loudness kinda Marshall tone on Channel 2. I'll use a guitar in standard tuning for that, of course.

Right on. :rock: I think it sounds great on my work speakers.

Sounds great man. Very articulate for such a low tuning. I like the mids just where they are. Keeps it sounding lively.
