Him and Jerry Reed jammed together on a few shows.

I remember Glenn Campbell was a player as well.

Andy Griffith played a little.

Barney tried. Had to have a Wah pedal for leads.... Went on to be in a real famous metal band...

I see what you did there

Andy was actually quite good. Not on the level of Jerry or Roy, but better than most would assume based on the TV show. Glen is far better than most would assume, too. He is an incredibly talented musician and songwriter. He's released 70 albums and sold over 45 million records. Back in the day, he was a studio/session musician behind Elvis, Dean and Frank, The Monkees, The Beach Boys, etc. Sadly, he's battling Alzheimer's...

The clips I've seen of Jerry and Chet playing together are great. Chet has a reputation as a fantastic player, which he was, but Jerry regularly handed him his ass. I'm stuck in the 80's when it comes to my preferred music, but I can sit and watch talent like that all day - doesn't matter what style of music they are playing

Yeah, these guys are amazing. I'm also stuck in the 80's but love watching these guys play. And as much as Buddy Rich was supposedly an ass, I love to watch his vids as well.

Buddy Rich was awesome. I used to beg my mom to let me stay up so I could see him on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson when I was a kid.

And man, as far as the 3 tv channel thing goes.....remember it so well. I also bet I know who the designated channel changer was in your house!!!

Man, I'm loving these vids. Thanks for posting.

Yep. I am in the same camp. Hee Haw was watched regularly. Nothing was on against it that was any better.

Sweep-picking in 1975 and Jerry (IMHO) handing Chet his ass! :worship:
