RS Guitarworks pots/caps upgrade.

Swapped the stock pickups for Bare Knuckle Mules matched set.

The biggest improvement I noticed was the quality and taper of the pots

So if I’m following, the only difference is where the cap is placed between volume and tone pots. So cap from the middle volume lead to the first lead on the tone vs first lead off volume to middle lead on tone?
Trying to envision what does this do for the sound?
I own 1 LP, but seems like this can be done for any 1V 1T guitar too.

It basically reverses how the volume and tone pots interact.

With modern wiring you lose some high end as you roll down the volume control.

With 50s wiring you lose some volume as you roll down the tone control.

50s wiring is loved by guys who clean up with the volume pot, because you not only maintain clarity along the sweep, you dial out low-end as you go, which makes your amp clean up much quicker. With 50s wiring you can roll down just a few notches and clean up dramatically, making it very easy to, say, roll up from 8 to 10 for a boost.
 
I always laugh when guys change pots (without measuring resistance) for something fancy and make those 'world difference' statements ? Usually tapers are only difference and behaviour treble depend on modern or 50s wiring. Even hated Gibson PCB wiring is good enough.
Best thing for less mud on neck pickup is no-load tone pot or any pot.
 
Dimarzio pots work and feel great, have a nice taper, and aren't cork-sniffer priced.

Remember, you're gonna need that money you saved for electron-flow corrected cables made from oxygen-free organic-raised copper.
