Anybody have any experience with the Celestion Ruby alnico's??? if so any experience with pairing them with another speaker?

I've got two Mather vert 2x12's; one is oval rear ported, loaded with a Blue / G12H30 combo. The other is closed back loaded with a Gold / Creamback M combo. I'm thinking about getting another Mather vert 2x12 and loading it with some sort of Ruby + ? combo. Cabs are run with my Wizard MC25 and a recent SLO 30 addition but are 8 & 16 ohms respectively, I want another cab to run as a pair.

Other scenario may be just getting a used Bogner straight 4x12 I have a line on...that actually pencils out to be the cheapest option but I'm not a fan of the V30's its loaded with...and its a monster sized cab...

I really like the Rubies as a secondary speaker. Also great as a primary speaker for classic rock and blues rock/cleaner type of sounds. For high gain, I prefer V30/GB. I currently use rubies for my wet cabs, with V30's for dry. Great combo and doesn't hit the same without the rubies being in the equation. Thick and harmonically rich in the midrange, but sweet in the highs

Ruby’s has kind of a thick but little bit ‘bloathed’ lower mids. Works better with EL84 amps. I like Cream better for big bottle amps or Scumback S75 if Alnico is choice.
Of course Bogner 4x12 will sound great and it is not as such PITA as two 2x12. Those have advantage in better sound spread on stage if it is big enough.
For second cab I recommend Scumbacks, J75 are my favourite and it is no brainer if You live in the US. I have Bogner 412 and wasn’t crazy about all V30 or V30/GB combo. Scumbacks transformed cab to absolute keeper. I had SLO30 and they worked great together. With Wizard…I tell You tommorow when my newly acquired MCII arrive ?

The 4x12 will be a bigger PITA due to where it will be when not in use and the stairs required...I don't mind making two trips. I ran the 2x12 with my Wizard piggyback 1x12 today and it sounded pretty massive, I may cool my jets on this idea...I wont get that many chances to use the 4x12 in the clubs we regularly play, I want it or the additional cab for outdoor / bigger stage shows we have booked.

What Wizard did you end up with?

The GAS never ends! There's always something more to want and spend $$ on!??????????
True but I can say that it’s for sure tapered off....my Wizard has been my go to amp for years now, the SLO is a better back up for me...I’ve settled into a few different guitars I play regularly.....funny thing, the busier I get with our band the more I realize how much shit I really DON’T need.....this search for speakers is just to add more cab firepower when needed outdoors, but yeah it’s for sure a ‘want’ and not a ‘need’
