I've always wondered the same thing. It's like he developed a completely different style between Rush and Farewell.
 
We saw them about six months ago on this same tour and they were phenomenal. Alex's tone had a raw edge to it over the last tour. I know hes using the Learxt Jubilee amps and a few other pieces. We're psyched. My Wife is a huge fan. Shes read all of Neil's books as well. A timeless amazing trio. Musically one of my favorite bands live. Heading to Ruth's Chris AC to tear up a steak and then to the Taj. Pop took my demon spawn for the weekend. :rock:

All three of them traveled a road to maturity in a matter of just a few years. They were never sex, drugs, and Rock and Roll. It was always about the Craft, :student:
 
As usual, I'll say the opposite of everyone else :D I really like the 80's period, granted I should probably give 2112 or Hemispheres a few complete listens. I love synth, I think Lifeson was awesome for changing his playing from riff-heavy stuff to more subtle atmospheric stuff that still fit the songs very well.

Terrific musicians, I think the songwriting skills is what held them back; they have a shitload of good material, but each album I heard has a couple of filler, boring tracks, although technically spectacular

Rock & Roll HOF? As much as I love NWA, how is stuff like "You'd rather see me in the pen than me and Lorenzo rollin in the Benzo" RNR? That's like inducting Deion Sanders in the baseball hall of fame; he's great, but not at baseball.

Neil Peart strikes me as being more of an antisocial than an intellectual

A little Natural Science.....one of my fav songs from one of my fav bands.
 
I love Rush from pretty much every era...including their 80's synth inspired stuff. The newer stuff is cool too, but I haven't bought any of it. I've seen them live around a dozen times and they always deliver the goods.
