Looks cool to me, but I did this to my Ibby 750. Propane torch, sandpaper, screwdriver, and driveway. :D
Binding burns very quickly...

did you also glue a bunch of things on the front? a little hard to tell by the pic. nice amount of damage though.

Woah...different! :rock:

I'm gonna go further and use some high heat to crack/damage the finish...I think I have a torch in the garage somewhere.

As well as heat, cold is really good for the cracking too ;)

Yep, parts of a watch, parts from an antique safe timer, IC chips, slip rings, various road junk. My best friend used to work for his Dad's surveying company and he found some of the pieces for it on the highway. :D

As well as heat, cold is really good for the cracking too ;)


Depending on the finish, what you want to do is make the body as cold as possible (in freezer for a day), and then take it out and hit it with a hot hair dryer, or blowtorch. The extreme change in temp will produce those checking cracks. This works best on nitro finishes.

that is one of the best relic jobs if not the best i've ever seen, for my tastes.
