Satellite phone?

The one I am looking at is the iridium 9575 Extreme and just wondered if anyone had experience with it…

I am in Canada and they seem to be still available up here to purchase with mthly/yrly minutes / plans etc. etc.

Looks like it was giving away locations… But that is a specific phone that is only apparently used in the Middle East.
