Went to a small festival with food trucks, and paid $10 to see a three night schedule. I missed the first night which was Ted Poley from Danger Danger and Rikki Rockett's band.

That next night, saw Pretty Boy Floyd, Black and Blue, and Mike Tramp's White Lion.

Final night saw Sabbath Knights with Vinnie Appice, Trixter, and Jackyl. Only saw three Sabbath Knights songs because of a downpour which sucked because they sounded amazing.

Every band sounded great but some standouts were Black and Blue and Sabbath Knights. Jacklyl was freaking awesome and was the best sound and energy of the weekend. Was a blast!

Some of the Jackyl guys were staying at our hotel and got to hang out with Jeff Worley in thr parking lot. In what can only be explained as a typical rock moment, my cousin was asking Jeff about his Dean guitars and swear to you, his brother Chris (the drummer) drove up in a truck and handed Jeff his guitar and a plate with two hamburger patties on it. I just started dyong laughing. Jeff has an EMG-81 pickup and said his guitar has a built in boost system.

The guitarist from Mike Tramp's White Lion sounded great and did a great job with Vito's solos. I didnt see any amps but read he plays a BluGuitar amp. Steve Brown fron Trixster sounded really good and voice was great too. They are a three piece now. Again couldn't see an amp but read he uses the Headrush. It worked for the hair metal stuff. He was using his Steve Brown guitars.

I think they were using a backline of JCM 900s but couldn't see that well. Jeff Worley brought his own cab monstrosity which was four 4x12s jammed together. I heard that he uses 5150 amps but not sure which one. Jesse James Dupree played thru a Fender and used a Les Paul, Explorer, and Tele. Oh and his chainsaw, lol.

Was a great weekend of metal 🤘

Sweet! I saw that first thumbnail and I was like oh, Trixter was there. Dude is so instantly recognizable, even in a small picture.

Thanks guys! Yeah amazing how positive and fun that music was. I miss the good feeling and no worries music from the 80s. 🤘🤘🤘

I remember in the late 80s it seemed like a new, great, hair metal album was dropping every week. Those were the days.. wish I knew how to play back then... but no internet to teach me. It wasn't until about 2000 when I started seeing tutorials and thinking.. that doesn't look too hard.

I kinda dismissed Jackyl after the chainsaw song, but have heard them perform live during a couple of radio broadcasts. They brought it. The singer seems like a humble guy as well. I need to revisit

They have a great energy and put on a fun show. Great songs too!

Any 80s ladies there? I miss the bleach, neon colors, and overall trashiness of 80s hair metal girls
