I couldn't make it to their show in Eastern PA due to a conflict of schedules, but I still am rawking out their release!

About WD vs. BCC... it isn't the singing that stands out as better to me it is the guitar ability. Joe can't carry Richie's jock when it comes to ability/command of the instrument. Each on their own is great, but actual prowess on the guitar Joe definitely is behind Richie.

I used to be a big fan of Joe, but I agree. Both are great guitarists, but with Richie, I feel he can play more styles more convincingly.

Agreed... Incredibly diverse musician and outstanding vocalist.

Just my opinion, but as talented as these guys are as individual musicians, the song-writing is pretty weak. I much preferred Black Country Communion for this super-group type thing. It's too bad they broke up.

I totally disagree. The song are really strong and memorable.

I'm with you. There's not a weak track on the WD disk.

Was Kotzen using his Fender amps?? I saw a recent photo where there was a red Marshall stacks behind him.

I put the disk on at work...and while I respect the playing....the songs ARE weak.

Hear me out...they aren't really "songs". They can actually be kinda hard to listen to. Sometimes it seems liek a bunch of jamming.....fine...but not "real" songs...????Sure there's a lot of notes but hard to pick out melody....and melodic interaction between instruments. Vocals are really just kind of shouting most of the time. Foo Fighters on steroids.

I like these players....but certainly you can see how it's not for everyone. (of course all music isn;t but you know what I mean!).

No, I completely do not understand what you are saying.

Not songs? As opposed to what/who? Bob Dylan, Elton John? The Beatles? Coldplay? Kings of Leon?

I find them to be some of the best songs released in recent history compared to what is out there. RK has a fantastic melodic sense likely because he is a singer and songwriter.

Go listen to his song Angry Boy and some of the recent tunes from 24 Hours and get back.

Yeah...badronald...my bad...of COURSE they are "songs". "by comparison", though...isn't saying a lot!

There is no debate about how good these guys are. I've been a fan of all of them through the years. I guess a perspective for you might be Steve Morse's Flying Colors- a super group in their own right. The singing, to me, is MUCH better. The songs are a little more cohesive- the playing may not be as fireworks sparkle as Winery Dogs, but seems more gelled....more like a long term "band" rather than "super group".

I certainly did miss my intent in that comment...thank you for backing me up the choo choo a little bit. Luckily, the good thing is iif you (me) don't care for something you (I) don't have to listen right?

Hard to pick out melody??? Need to relisten. Check out "I'm no Angel" for example.

Okay okay guys! I will go home and rethink my assessment!

I will go back to it...maybe at home instead of at work. More relaxed....Couple beers...better stereo system.

I got teh RT smackdown! :gethim:

I agree, Steve. Great musicians, but the songwriting doesn't do anything for me. In fact the songs bore me...but, I could say that about 99% of music these days.
