Got this PM on another forum.

How do you want to receive the funds? I don't have PayPal.

Options are:
1. Wire transfer. I'll need a) Your full name, b) address, c) phone # d) bank name, address, telephone #, e) routing #, f) bank account #. All this info is necessary since everything has to match with the recipient bank account holder. Your bank on a wire transfer will charge you a fee as a recipient so you won't get the full $2400. Also, it'll be on record and you most likely have to claim it as income received on your income tax.

2. Bank check from my bank, Wells Fargo. I'll need: a) Your full name, b) address, c) phone #. Depositing the check to a bank account again will be on record. Also, it's sent by snail mail.

3. Money order from Western Union. I can leave the recipient's name and address blank and you can fill out the information, if you want to, once you receive it and cash it anonymously. Sent by snail mail so I'll need your a) name and b) mailing address. I'll scan images of the money order and receipt and forward the info to you. You should receive it within 2-3 days once I mail it from Los Angeles where I reside. No fees involved on either our part except that the money order costs $1 when I purchase it.

Please let me know what option you want. I'd rather not pay the fees with a wire transfer
or having to get a bank check.

Stay away man. I had the same guy email me. Met up with him and here is what I saw.

Well it was 3 days of just a BLUR. Not really sure what happened.

A total stranger is asking for all your personal and financial info and you want to know if its a scam?

What damage can someone do if they just have your account number? Can only transfer money in not out...

Just choose option 3 and have a money order sent. I do it regularly. Have to have a degree of trust obviously but that's why these forums work so well. Have him send a postal money order or moneygram. Done deal.

sounds scummy to me.
It takes 5 min to setup a paypal account if you have a US bank.

You and your Paypal....
I like to KNOW who I'm trusting to USE my money and making a fortune on it.
This is paypal.... read under CRITICISM and LITIGATION:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PayPal

If we ALL started to make choices about WHO and WHAT we are making rich beyond any limit... making something so powerful to decide your future and life quality... that would be a much better way to go.

Yeah, I don't see an issue at all with 3. Name and address, that's it.

Who is it from. Can anybody here vouch for him? I received a phony Wells Fargo check before. Took it to the bank to get it checked. They said they have seen lots of them. Don't do it.

Postal money orders or moneygram. Deposit at your bank, wait till it clears if its something you aren't familiar with. You don't have to ship anything until you know its legit.

Wire transfer or western union. Once you have the money, you have the money. No risk of losing it. I'd rather have a wire than paypal.

The info needed for a wire is no different than what would appear on a check - and you'd have no problem writing a check and sending it off somewhere - with who knows seeing it.

Just because you get a wire, it's not necessarily taxable income. They are just proceeds. If you had a gain on the sale, that would be taxable. In theory you'd need to be able to prove your basis if you get audited - but that's highly unlikely. There is no tax reporting by the bank. You probably wont get a fee to receive a wire in, typically its just if you make a wire out.
