I’m swapping out some heavily worn hardware on a guitar and figured I would get matching black across the board... guitar currently has 3x3 Schaller M6 locking tuners (135 designation) and I’m striking out sourcing a set in black for under $135. Are there any drop in replacements that don’t require any drilling?

It looks like the Gotoh SG381 MG-T tuners could potentially fit (gotoh has great diagrams available online but the Schaller ones have left a bit to be desired).

Any input on Hipshot? Not sure if the UMP set up will work for this guitar

I can also snap a picture of the back of the headstock if that might help at all

Not sure if they'd fit, but I have the Hipshot open gear tuners on a 6 string Mayo and they're pretty awesome. Very accurate and stable. I like the Gotoh a lot though too.

I've been using the Hipshots on my own builds lately, but I've used Gotohs as well. Both are decent, but the Hipshots are nicer. Super tight with no backlash.

I generally go with gotoh. I have had problems with two sets of sperzel. Really Schaller have always worked well for me.
