Thinking about picking one of these up, I have a km7 that I like quite a bit but I am needing a non-Floyd 6 string guitar that will live in Drop B / C standard for a project. Anyone have any strong opinions on that guitar or care to direct me to another guitar that can be obtained for a similar price ($700-850) with similar specs?

I'm sure it would be a good guitar but if I could buy a guitar right now I'd take advantage of the ESP clearance sale. There's a few guitars with the TOM well under your budget that would be great.

Otherwise I'd look and try to get lucky on a used ESP Horizon or even LTD/Edwards. There's a decent one on eBay for a good price but it's bolt on.

You can get lots of nice LTD's in your range too.

I i was looking for that style of guitar i would also see if i could grab a esp on clearance.

I haven't played that exact model, but MIK Schecters are actually pretty good quality. I wouldn't mind owning one, if I were in the market for another guitar.

I had the km-6(black one), tuned to drop B, then finally to D. I went through no lie like 7 string gauges and the thing wouldn't hold tuning. Had nut pro filed, etc, still couldn't get it. Loved the guitar, pickups ruled, but I traded it locally for the km-7 mkII. Glad I did.

At first I wasn't sure I wanted the 7 string, but the mkii's have a 5 piece neck and the Ernie ball compensated nut, even on the 6 string model. The first series km-6's(black and white ones) had a three piece, and being so thin, I could tell couldn't hold the tension. Maybe I had a dud? But the mkII 7 I have now is awesome. Holds tuning, and has a really alive sound.

I want a km6 again and am hoping Keith has a new model this upcoming year, cuz I didn't wanna have the 6 and 7 the same color...cuz both mkII are that natural flame color. Hoping it's mkII specs with different color options.

Didn't you do that awesome Borealis cover on your KM6?

This one? Yeah I did. Don't know how awesome it was, but is a killer album and those guys are super nice.

The first KM6 AND KM7 were both bad ass and huge deal for the buck. I don't see how the II could be worse.
