Schecter USA guitars.

There's a few in local Guitar Centers. But I played one today that was a typical superstrat H/S/H pickup config, Koa top, all natural finish, super smooth and comfy oiled neck. Frets and neck felt perfect. Overall it felt and played as good if not better than most any Suhr or Anderson I've played. I guess they have a small crew in a custom shop in California. Whatever they're doing they're making some sweet ass guitars,.

The one I played looked like this, minus the FLoyd and a hum in the neck, and it had 3 3-way switches for the pickups instead of the 5 way.

I haves me a 1997 Schecter USA Traditional with swamp ash body and maple neck and fretboard. I'm happy to see these back in production; I'll add another one some day with a combination of alder and rosewood.

Notice in the photo above that these guitars have two strap pegs so the guitar doesn't tip over. Nice touch.

Mesa Hollywood had lots of two types of guitars for sale: Andersons and USA schecters

Yeah Andersons have that too but if you have other guitars that use the std centered position (and all of my other guitars do) then you hate it cause with your strap this Schecter or the Anderson is either too high or too low depending on which peg you use. I use the same strap for several guitars when using my wireless which is attached to the strap.

The one I played was used and selling for $2499. But that's GC's price and it will sit there for a while unless they drop the price.

I thought John worked for Schecter in his early days before he worked at the NYC shop making the Pensa/Suhr guitars.

I think it was Tom Anderson that worked for Schecter...

For me Schecter is easily one of the finer guitar companies. Like Charvel Jackson, the will build whatever you can dream up. Never played a Schecter Custom Shop I didn't think was very high quality.

Tom worked for Schecter until he started his own company making guitar parts out of his garage. I think these new USA models look great but look to much like Toms guitars.

When I think of Schecter I think of all their lower end guitars.

I think Suhr said that when he worked for Pensa, they used Schecter parts for builds. I don't think he worked for Schecter.

My thoughts EXACTLY... Shhhhhhhhh you will drive up the prices dang nabbit!!!

I have a massive erection for a Schecter Hollywood USA because it is a 22 fret carve top double cut with 25.5 scale length.

Not many guitars with this config being made by manufactures.
