I've just discovered these amps and it seems to be the perfect sound I've been looking for...AC30 meets Plexi.

However, I've read problems about the two channels sharing Volume control?

Has this been fixed with the series II? I wouldn't want a two channel amp where I can only have one channel usable at any given time.

Any bands use this amp?

Any of you guys have any clips?

The amps worth the money? They seem a bit pricey.

To get the two channel volumes the same you have to give the clean channel a little gas. So if you want the clean channel to be pristine clean you might have issues but if you don't mind your clean to have a little hair(I like it better this way esp. live) it's not a problem.

I've had mine for over a year with no problems, great amps. I don't really like the pull modern feature on the mid control though. It boosts the bass which I like but also boosts the treble which makes it kinda too bright IMO. Don't know if the newer Peavy built models are the same way.

schematics remember me of the naylor superdrive/naked friedman
interesting amp

I played one a LONG time ago and really liked it but had a hard time balancing the channels. Something I've heard is that there is a huge difference between the different models (by power rating). I'd love for someone to talk about the SD18/30/45/80 differences.

Budda = very unique Vox-meets-modded-Plexi brown tone amp.

Not really a huge difference in tone between the 18 and 30.
SD45 is brighter and the SD 80 will vaporize small mammals that walk by when it's cranked.
SD80 has miles of headroom and authority.
All the SDs have my all-time favorite drive sound.
NOT recto death fizz, but you can get a pretty rad crunch sound by scooping the mids a bit.
Really hard to get a bad sound no matter where you set the knobs.
Very simple, DIY channel balance mods are available.

So, are the volume issues on the Series I amps only? Has anything been addressed on the Series II?
