Very cool.
Once and a while you can snag a great deal on used gear at gc.

Nice Score Dude!! BTW, Dont you have 2 of those now? You know the ropes here, if you have 2 and some one asks for one, you have to give it to them, rules are rules.  And yes, that pic has been freaking me out as well :bleh:

I think you're supposed to resell it first for big bucks then say you got for it $1200.

I sold a pair of IIC+ heads a few years ago and have always regretted it. Now I have an Electra Dyne 2x12 combo and this IIC+. They're very different amps and both cover a lot of ground.

I have a 7 week old so it's been at low volumes. But I tried the LeTekro trick and was laughing my balls off.

That is awesome. I'm always in GC checking used stuff for that very reason. They either have stuff priced inexplicably high, especially Gibson or have pricing/labeling screwups like on that IIC+. My local had a IIC+ combo for $1999 (labelled correctly) and it didn't last long.

Simulclass question.....I've seen heads that have the simulclass switch and some that say their simulclass without the switch in back, but they have 34's on the outside. Is their a way to know for sure when the switch isn't there? Is it only Simulclass if you can switch to the outer pair. Is this what the half power switch on some MKIII's is doing?

I got mine for 1700 at GC

Got my 5153 for 1000 even

But I don't go in there ever asking questions about things except recording. They do the Saturday classes, free, and I just got some gear to record some clips on something besides a phone or boom box.

how does someone at GC now know what a IIC+ is

really what are the qualifications to work at this place, be as clueless as possible?

well good score congrats

It is always an adventure.

I had a chic there that was trying hard to sell me a MKV. I told her I had MKIIC and was happy with it. She said they would give me a great deal on an upgrade. And if that wasn't good enough, they had an awesome Marshall. She said she was a big time Marshall fan. This new Marshall JMC901 was like so, like, awesome....epic tone... She could get me a great deal.

Somehow I was able to resist....

The best part is they were probably high five-ing each other because you paid $1200 for what they thought was a Mark III that they probably paid $600 for.

Exactly! GC paid some sucker $600 for his rare IIC+, and, some dude actually sold them their IIC+ for that!

Awesome score!!!!
Thats the only thing I like about GC, I scored a $2.5K bass for $400 one day a while back, they even had the original case for it!!

Congrats Dan

I've been kicking around snatching up a clean Mark IV for about a year now....almost bought Chad's three separate times (unbeknownst to him)

Wow, great score. I hope it all works right. GC around here is terrible about putting out f'd up gear on the floor.

Nice. Simul-Class? Export transformer?

Doesn't have the export tranny. But it has simul-class, EQ, and the combo speaker is a 200 watter. Shit, I would of been happy with a plain 60 watter for the price. I've been playing at mouse fart volume but it sounds killer.

Congrats Danny....

Man What a deal. Great Score

Steve are you going to run your Mk V into the loop of the IIC+ to see how it sounds? ;)

Congrats.

My best GC deal was a Zion electric guitar for $199.

WOW, that's a great score. Those Zion guitars had a low resale because they were unknown and had an 80's vibe from the name and whatnot. But the quality on them is up there with anything.
