Great songwriting. They wrote some some of the most memorable melodies in hard rock. Great band, the songs make you feel good.
Saw them on the "love At First Sting" tour, it was treasured memories for me.

Funny you should start this thread today :), I'm in the night shift again, the last time I spent 3 nights at work I had a lot of fun with YT Scorpions clips, Jabs especially.!

I think Scorpions was the other big one in my formative years alongside Maiden. I kinda stopped following them after Winds of Change but always come back to the "classic" era - Blackout, Love at First Sting, Savage Amusement - every now and then. I have to admit I've admired Jabs's effortless pentatonic fireworks from the get go and still am amazed what he gets out of those basic notes! His live tone in the 80's was phenomenal, at least to me. And as someone already said, the rhythm tone of theirs is one of the benchmark of the era.

Couldn't agree with you more and now go and play some Scorps

They were the band we covered the most when I was jammin' and giggin' in my yoot!! (around 13 to 16 years old).

Was listening to the Scorps just the other day and thought it was time for an appreciation thread......

I dig this video for obvious reasons and the fact that Mathias Jabs was playing an SLO makes it that much cooler!!!

one of my favs from Scorps love that riff...

Saw them last summer here ,incredible energy for old guys lol

Long time Scorp fan here.....
stumbled on this nugget on accident.
Killer tune for sure....

My vote's in. Grew up with a couple of those, still occasionally gets a spin on the iPod w random shuffle.

Rock

Yeah, there is just something very special about them really and so many great songs that they put out. I go through a period at least twice a year where I play them for a good week and just go through the entire collection that I have of their stuff.

Does anyone own ( In Trance) ? as I have been wanting to pick that one up and was curious how it was.

It's great. A good companion album to Virgin Killer. Apart from Lonesome Crow, which isn't bad per se you can't go wrong with any Scorp's up until Love At First Sting.

I can listen to old scorps for hours. The old stuff where Jabs would throw in his little tidbits after verses and choruses. He's such a badass guitar player. You always leave with an ear orgasm when he plays.

Ive been a big Scorpions fan since Animal Magnetism came out. I went into their back catalog and prefer the Uli Roth years though.

The Scorps (which, by the way, sounds like something you would need a heavy dose of Penicillin to cure)...
RAWK!!!

No one brings the vocal energy at that stage of the game like Klaus and throughout the years, the guitar work has been nothing short of stellar...

Badass.

Like the Honey Badger.

Scores are classic. A few years ago I finally picked up scorpions gold 2 disc set, lots of great tracks on there.

I've seen them twice, and both times they were great!

70's Scorpions is just supreme, and by far the best.

Yngwie agrees

The into to Bad Boys Running Wild....

The best known into ever?

Definitely one of the coolest.

Rolling the 370 about 150 mph around the loop at midnight. Big City Nights road tune for sure.

Love dem Scorps bitchez....
