This is where real life networking works better IMHO. When i was in the middle of bands there was always this circle of people i knew who were in and out of bands so it was easy to find something. But try and maybe showup at some open jam nights, try and see which bands in your area are popular and hang out at their shows and maybe get to know some people who know them since bands always know other bands, and bands are always switching members.

A huge +1 only way to do it.

There seems to be a community of musicians in my area. Its cool when you are on the inside, sucks when you are on the outside. I know a good number of people in bands doing stuff, but so far that hasn't helped me get back in.

I had similar luck on Craig's list. I posted an ad and go no response. I responded to a few, only 50% did I actually get a response back. Another thing I learned, is that alot of people don't like people who can play more than on instrument.

I seem to find one of these 3 types of musicians:
- Already in a band
- Good musician, but no time/desire to be in a band
- Beginner

And for the record I like Ska :scared:

god i love craigslist but i hate people who use it. They cant read your post, then they call you asking questions that are all on the post. half the time i cant understand what there saying. fuck some people are just plain stupid.
