Steve's amp seems promising. Recently played at Suhr CAA PT100. Very impressed!

Beautiful sounding...just looking for something a bit more hard core

New clips of harder core stuff coming soon... It's as capable of it as many of the amps you mentioned...

good to hear...keep me/us posted.

I'm always in and never in a hurry :D

What about any used heads for sale? I can't post yet but trying to check on that Framus Cobra.

any other worthy ones out there?

Between those two, D-Moll. If you're still open, Splawn Nitro is a monster.

Decided...D-Moll or Fortin Meathead
I'd go with the Meathead - though it's going to be pricey. Get ready for the sticker shock :D

If you're looking for "hardcore" then I'd skip the Meathead. I owned one and there's no way I'd call it a metal amp. Not bashing it but the Herbert that sat next to it annihilated it when it came to heavy stuff. Good cleans but not nearly the amount of gain people think it has.

Off of your list I'd probably go with the Cobra or D-moll. I haven't played a D-moll yet but if it's anything like the Herbert you'll be happy with it.

Randall Satan? Actually... you should check out Mike Lickliter's amps. There's a XD100 head in the classifieds for a killer price. It's all turret board. Also, it's mean as fuck sounding, with a beautiful clean channel.

Rhodes fits into that camp of amps. Check'em out. D Moll gets my vote.

Honestly, when I read your amp list, the Rhodes Colossus came to mind. Seriously one of the best and most versatile amps I have ever played.

Sick amp ^^^^

I was going to say uberschall rev.2 until you said not too dark.

Another amp to hear is the Ear force they're pretty badass. But all of these replies have good suggestions.

I'm very excited to see Steve's post about the heavy clips. Very curious as the Henning amps have one of the best lead tones I have ever heard.
