never seen them before... think it's the 2nd time they have ever been downunder

can't wait!!

No Peter Wichers. No Ola Frenning. That just isn't Soilwork to me. :thumbsdown: :no:
 
Well guys, the gig SUCKED!
Nothing impressed me all night.

Guitars had no midrange with a shit load of gain, sounded fizzy and mud city
Was hard to make out what song they were playing sometimes
All picking guitar parts were on a backing track through the fukin PA!!!! :no:

Only good thing was the dude can sing like a mofo, great vocal gig

Left me very disappointed as Soilwork are one of my fav bands

oh yeah, both guitarists were using 5150's

their bass player is a mega spud too

Same when I saw em. The tone was terrible. i couldn't even understand the solos or anything. Did you notice the vocals that were sampled too in the background. I guess that would be a guide track. It was definantly there when I saw em.

Seems like this wasn't a 1 off bad show for them then

I just can't understand sampling guitar parts through the PA when you have 2 guitarists?! :confused:
 
Yep that opening song when that guitar riff started I looked to see who was playing it and thats when I realized "oh god they don't even play all the parts".

yes and they have 2 guitarists!

both guitarists were just playing the same heavy chunk riffs together and that's pretty much it :thumbsdown:

Sheesh, so they didn't even play the lead melodies? Did they do any solos? Talk about lazy guitarists.

yes they played some solos but the sound was so shit i couldn't hear a note all night
 
That's pretty pathetic, especially considering that they also have a keyboard player. How the hell did they even pull off the old songs?

If you're going to be getting a gig as a touring guitarist with the band (not sure if the current dudes are full members?) then at least try to learn the material instead of having backing tracks of what you're supposed to be playing... If you're doing that then you might as well bring a lawn chair and a half rack of beer and just chill out on the stage and have backing tracks do all the work.
 
They never did shit like that with Peter and Ola in the band. :no:
 
Yeah...he wasn't there wehnI saw them either. Thought that sucked....the opening band sounded better to me...War of Ages
