I was talking to Brad and John C about this very thing, practically every male in my family served and I came SO close to enlisting but bailed literally at the door to the recruitment center and went back to college instead. My reasoning back then was that I felt like I grew up in the service but there isnt a day that goes by that I dont regret that decision. My hat is off to anyone and everyone that served and continues to serve this great nation. Thank you

This is an inertesting thread, are there any other branches of the military here. I was in the U.S.Army for three years 88-91. My respect to those who have served in all branches of the sevices past, present and future

:salute:

A big  to those that serve in any branch of military or other armed forces that risk their lives to keep us safe!

There ARE still some patriots in this country who appreciate every ounce of energy you have put into your service. I'm 24 and I feel like an outsider in this regard, thanks to the brainwashed youth of today that take anything spouted on MTV News at face value.

I'm still considering joining the service...it's been on my mind for a couple years now. :)

Just retired from the USAF this past Friday. 1983-2009, maybe the best decision I made about what to do with my life. My wife, my kids, my degree, the job I'll be starting in a couple of weeks - all products of my decision to join the military. Not for everyone, for sure....but for me I have no regrets in having chosen to serve.

You Marine's are bad to the bone man.

I went through Army basic and served in the Army National Guard in Ohio for 6 years from 82-88.

Big salute to you folks who have served and especially gone overseas to protect our way of life.
