I plan on buying an amp on eBay and having it sent to Dave for browning! Have you guys called Dave first, or just sent your amps with a note?

I'd love to buy the amp, and have the seller ship it directly to Dave, but don't know if that will be OK?

I did the same thing actually. Shoot him an email to make sure and I'm sure he'll be cool with it. Just make sure the seller includes a note with it too, and you should be all good!

Sure send it. Please send me a email stating what you want and were the amp is coming from and also have the seller inc a note in the amp telling whose amp it is. Thanks

Will do, thanks Dave!

PS--One of the 4-input JCM800's I'm considering has a mod with a switch on the back that switches from triode to pentode. Is that OK, or will that get in the way of your Brown Eye / SAT switch mod? Removing it and installing your SAT switch would be fine with me!

One more question - is surface rust on the transformer iron bad, or semi normal? The amp is in Florida, maybe by the ocean?

Yeah I saw that amp on Ebay. Very nice condition! That would be a killer amp to have modded. :codeak:
Yeah, I'll try and buy it tonight.

I see you have a bunch of nice stuff on-order!

Thanks!

Finally got the PRS after 7 long months. I Just need to update that. The Marsha will be here tomorrow

I play in a couple of bands (one cover, one original). After every cover gig I take the money and put it a cookie jar. That's how I make all my purchases. Gotta save save save!

Next up... A Friedman NAKED...

Good luck with the Ebay auction. I really don't know the value of an amp like that. If you do win it and you get it modded... Woah man... It'll be killer!

Nice to be able to play your way into saving for new gear! Must be a nice sized cookie jar to be able to finance a Marsha and custom PRS!

Hope I do win the amp, having a Friedman modded JCM800 Plexi will be he ultimate rock machine!

I won the amp on eBay! The seller is sending it to you (Dave) and it should arrive late next week.

I am psyched to hear what the amp will sound like after a brown eye and SAT switch is installed!

CONGRATS MAN!!!

Let the waiting game begin!
Dave has a good system set up. He sent an invoice, which I paid half to get the amp started. Then I paid off the rest as he was building it. He let me know when it was finished and I paid the balance and the shipping.

I do have a day job too. LOL... I'm actually active duty Navy. It's a Monday - Friday day job here on shore duty. Then I'm playing gigs on Friday and Saturday nights.

Serving our country during the week, rockin on the weekends, pretty cool!

Glad Dave is organized. I have a friend who had his amp modded by Cameron. Mark is notorious for long waits on mods! And communication is non-existant at some points. I think it's due to health issues though.

PS - Your avatar is a riot!

Ha ha. Thanks... Yeah that's NOT me in the avatar. Lol.

I won't be rockin' too much next year when I go back to a ship. Lol.

My Marsha just arrived. It's #42. I'll be up all night with this new baby I'm sure.
You in the Navy?
