The ones that put RT on the map and made this the coolest gear forum around. Has everyone finally matured, except me? Has everyone moved on?

the gtr forums went from an information resource for hard to try out boutique gear and source for the occasional insider news on noteworthy items, to a glut of boutique oversaturation and every tom dick and harry demoing gear on youtube. the hunt and the mystery are all but gone. and with modelers like axe-fx, you now have a quick fix to approximations of all of the racks of tone toys and samples of new amps in one box.

in 2001 audio clips were a fairly rare and new phenomenon, and online video clips were way rare. so finding those clips of rare amps along with info about them was fun.

that was when sniderman and i did the high gain shootout and i videotaped it and it was a cool enough resource of amps in one place that a bunch of guys bought copies from me just so they could check out the latest stable of tone ponies in one place.

jared coberly of the old classic egnater forum fame extracted audio from my eggie vid demo and a studio session zachman did with my tol 50 combo and posted them on his site soon after that and that was my first online audio clip "debut"

in 2007 decent youtube gtr clips were sorta rare when i dropped my first mojave coyote demo straight off my kodak still camera, and now my channel has 1.2 million views and i cannot begin to imagine how many terrabytes of space are being occupied by gtr related clips on youtube.

guys like andy wood, pete thorn, tom quayle, i love watching because they rip unique things and record pro quality clips. and with the tone and playing veterans on gear page it's harder and harder to feel the need to buy new cds because what they put out kills..guys like mondoslug, chuck d., scott lerner, lance keltner,....are on rotation on my iphone. so i love that the bars gets raised.

and at least every now and then something cool and new surfaces here worth pursuing and there are ears on here i trust.

velcro fly/steve basically convinced me to get a carol ann OD2r and that thing is insane. sah5150/steve and gainfreak/ralph and kagey and dijitaljam/scott and tweed/randy pummeled me into axe-fx submission and i'm glad i went there.
pete thorn and dave friedman made me want scumbacks..ergo i own 2.
donpacinobarzino/joe influenced me to nab a badgerplex pre...en route.
