I'm always seeing videos of guys with Antiquities playing blues or clean stuff. Figured I should throw some rock tones in the youtube mix. I am highly impressed with how well these pickups hand gain. They definitely bring that classic rock vibe, but crank the gain and they bark nicely.

Sounds great and nice playing!
With all the PAF types out there it seems these are still a benchmark for that. But I've always been concerned with squealing at volume. Any issues with that?

I like The "JB" Antiquity..Nice Summer Song by Satch there, sounds great.

I haven't had these up too loud yet. I can tell you that I have had my BKP Mules, which are also unpotted, up screaming loud and have never had any squealing issues. And of the PAF type of pickups I have used, they have been some of the best. I love the Mules, but the Ants have more of that P90ish growl to them that I love.

they are great pickups... I just got a bridge with no cover for my 59RI

Sounds great! I’m glad you got the QR back up and running to! lol

I had an Antiquities Texas hot SC in the neck of a charvel. It sounded great doing vintage stuff, but didn't do high gain well at all.

I read a post somewhere a dude fixed his squeal issues with a piece of electrical tape on the underside of the cover. Haven't needed to try it yet though.

Sounds good SFW

The only time I've ever had an issue with squeal from an unpotted pickup is when I run an OD pedal for solos. Which is what you hear in the video above. Other than that, a quality unpotted pickup should not squeal.
