Seymour Duncan JB vs Suhr Aldrich Video

I think JB's sound great in superstrats but I want a Les Paul to put an Aldrich in...

I preferred the JB in that clip, more cut and more raunchiness. The Aldrich was smoother and clear, which didn't really fit the rifts in the clip as well.

Never tried an Aldrich in a super strat, but I like them in my les paul

I have the Aldrich in one of my PRS Singlecuts and it sounds amazing....

Wonder where the AT-1 from dimarzio fits in the mix. Smoother in the highs like the Aldrich but more raunch like the JB I wonder?

It sounds to me like the amp was dialed it for the JB so the the Aldrich sounded a bit muddy with the same settings. Now if were the other way around, the JB would of sounded too bright. I've had both and to me the Aldrich is the clear winner.

I have an Aldrich set in my Carvin and JB in my Edwards. Both sound very similar through the Splawn. I agree the JB is a tough raunchier but I'm surprised they are so close in sound.

I am with you on that. They are very close (less the price tag). ! In my VH4 I prefer my LP loaded with JB's on channel 2. For channel 3.....It is my LP loaded with Aldrich's. If one want's to really get nuts???? I plug in my LP loaded with Nailbombs. Put your tray and seat up and make sure your seat belt is properly fastened.

I just swapped an Aldrich for a JB in a PRS West St. :all mahogany set neck with a vintage style tremelo. The Aldrich bridge has quite a lot of bass without sounding muddy. It's delivers more upper end than the JB too..sounds more polished and fluid for leads.
JB sounds a bit ruder, thicker, and less polished. For the tones I'm looking for the JB is more suited with my amps: 80s metal, Skid Row, etc.

Both are great pups and can't go wrong.

i like the aldrich better, i have both the aldrich and jb and i dont like the lows on the jb or the feel.
