Shipping an amp in a roadcase?

I don't really see the need for boxing a roadcase. Are you guys doing this to keep the case clean or unscuffed?

I just boxed mine to keep people out of it ! I guess you could use tie wraps like steve said.

I ship stuff in a Roadcase all the time and I have also pulled the tubes out, wrapped them up in bubble wrap and placed them in the back of the amp and/ or shipped with the tubes still in. I also highly recommend that you put the roadcase into a cardboard box and wrap it up. Some shippers want you to do that anyway

I've got one and they're well made. Mine's been cross country many a times without any issuses.

Looks solid I've got a live in Brady Case for my main gigging head and it's a tank!!! Keeps my Kali nice and warm & safe.

I do this as well, just to keep people out of the case. With all the stuff getting stolen, just seemed like an extra bit of security since they cant open it without unboxing it.
It is a pain in the ass though

Had a Head shipped to me in a Roadcase....didnt quite fit.....little loose.
Arrived with tubes broken.....the glass from the tubes gouged up the tolex.....
Make sure its packed with no wiggle room!

@Mike, of course it is to be assumed that the road case is fitted for the amp. Most are sized to the 100 watt Marshall head anyway, but it needs to be tight. Put the amp in a garbage bag too in case of any moisture or tube breakage. Better yet, send Dave an amp without any tubes in it and make him work for it.....
