It looks like bias caps were possibly changed when it was converted to EL34 but filter, screens, and mains caps were not. It’s overdue for a recap/overhaul. It does look like it has original iron, which is even more of a good reason to recap it if you don’t want a dead PT or blown cap down the road causing a corrosive mess in the chassis. Ask me how I know.

It looks like preamp sockets were coated with some type of white epoxy but the original sockets are still present, so hopefully the preamp tube sockets won’t need replacement anytime soon otherwise it will be more in labor.

Otherwise it looks stock minus one cathode bypass cap. Price seems a bit high but in this market that seems fair if it’s in working order.

I’d grab it if you can. Good luck man!

I definitely will replace all caps, if i grab it. But also the sockets if there is any noise, that shit irritates me. But yeah. I have wanted a jmp for a long time. They seem to never come up

Grab it. Do It. Now.

In all seriousness, if you can swing it I highly recommend it. Put 1 or 2 pedals in front and watch it chase your Wizard to the classifieds.

Don’t be afraid to put a hot mod into the 1959 to turn it into essentially a 2203. There are a lot of options to make them super versatile these days. That 74 might send your wizard out the door after you’ve got it dialed in.

Man --You Marshall men are being a little hard on Wizard !! Just so happens I agree with you !!

I can’t believe these prices. I sold Steve K my mint 1974 SL for $1800 in 2015ish. I was the second owner. The amp was ripping. Wish I had kept it to sell now. ? Sold my 71 SL in 2020 for $2k. Could probably sell it for $3500+ now. Glad I kept my 67 Plexi. Maybe I should sell it for $10k.

It is crazy now . How did we get here so fast ?

The first monomyth I had was a 1974 superlead and it was fantastic. I would feel good about buying this since he posted gut shots. The price for me is way out of my price range but if I was looking for this amp specifically I wouldn't hesitate

Got my 79 100 watter Halfstack for 600.00 about 20 years ago . I saw the guy last November and he said he would pay me 600 .00 for the head . I laughed but not because I a mean person but because it sounds so good it would be the last amp I ever sell.

Most people know the boutiques don't sound much better , there's just more you can do with them . That's why we all need at least 10 heads and cabinets in our basements !!! 6 knob glory !!

Oh yeah!!!
