Should I sell my peavey ultra plus for a mesa 295?

I have the chance to buy a Mesa 295 power amp that I could use with my recto preamp. I think this would be very cool with the recto preamp because I could use one channel on class A and one channel on class AB :D

Now, I need to get money for this. I could sell my peavey ultra plus for $400 and have enough, and I could sell my intellifex for another $100. Do you think this is worth it? I love the ultra plus, but I would also love to have this rig in stereo and have all the options that could come with it.

Worth it?

What is a normal going price for 295's? I can't find any online.

Used a 295 for several years. Great poweramp. Never had a problem with mine.

Yes. Im not sure what the 295's are going for now, but im pretty sure they're m ore than the ultras are... sick power amp. I used one years ago with 4-4x12's, a vtwin pre amp, and a ds-1. That was a cheap brutal rig.

I have a 295 now,which I use with a quad preamp,I think you'll love it
With a recto pre,the 295 is flat out smooth, counter the recto for total
Bliss,the 6L6/EL-34 together sound fantastic.

I can probably get $400 out of my peavey ultra. I am still on the fence about this, I like the peavey, but I would also really like the 295 with the recto pre, having one side A, and the other AB

That's what I think is really cool, having the ability to blend the tubes like that, and I have tons of old sets of str 420's  .

I will probably put my peavey ultra up in the classifieds tomorrow :( :)

A Mesa 295 sold a couple of days ago on ebay for $349 +$60 shipping(a total of 10 bids). Seller probably only netted about $300 after ebay/pp fees. Ouch!

I saw that one, Lucky deal the buyer got, but a bad deal the seller got. I was just looking around on forums and saw some 295's selling or $600. I think I will take the plunge, and sell my peavey...

For now, I have decided to keep my ultra. Too sentimental to let go. I can get a 295 later in my life...
