Thats my Luxxtone I ordered it in 2012 ser#35. I also have a master built Charvel which is a great guitar. I would put my Luxxtone up against any Charvel. Im not saying they are better but every bit as good.

I just pulled the trigger at Sweetwater on this yesterday. I loved my EVH Franky so much that I wanted something less goofy looking but with a similar neck and feel. If it's not a total piece of junk, I'm going to get stainless frets put on and swap the Floyd out for a Black 1984 with brass fine tuners. I really wish they offered this exact guitar in the USA Select series with better appointments. It's exactly what I've been looking for.

Awesome! Is the recessed cavity under the Floyd painted black? If so, is it smoothed and finished, or rough looking?

I really like it!
When I first picked it up, it felt almost exactly like the Charvel neck on the Partsocaster I built back in late-83/early ‘84. That was the selling point for me.
It just instantly felt great. There was zero break-in period with the guitar.
The Duncan 1/4 Pounder single coil has become my favorite neck single coil to pair with.
Overall, it’s just a super solid rock guitar.

I really like it, it's my main gigging guitar. Rock solid tuning and the pickups cover a lot of ground. Someday I'd like to add a second mini-switch so I can split the neck bucker alone.
My only complaint is the paper thin finish, you can see where I've worn it to bare wood underneath the pickups.

Great thread, I love old Charvel.
I've had a few, the way each of them early ones is almost unique makes it really fun to go on a hunt for "the one".

The sounds that emanate from mine are definitely unique and different from my hotrodded MiM HHS '96 Strat Std and '84 Gibson SG-R1 guitars.

Yes, each I've played had a very unique feel & sound; the neck shapes especially, could very a LOT. All great though, and sharing a true "hot rodded vintage" feel. That non-lacquered oiled neck touch in particular, is a high mark on the old ones.
