Haven't done a demo yet, but worry not, it's coming!

LOVE these H2A's! Holy crap! The EMG Revelation Set was the first passive pickups I've tried in YEARS... love 'em. Low output alnico 2's and you really have to dig to get some bite out of them, but that makes them oh so fun to play...

Was a little skeptical of the H2A's, but figured they were a touch hotter than the H1A's, so I found a pair on the bay of evil and threw in some gold screws to match the newly added gold hardware on my Jackson Juggernaut... I did have the EMG Het Set in there, but it was SO damn hot... the cleans were stellar too... just wanted to try something new and visually have something more suited to the new hardware (the Het Set was black chrome).

Love the new look and LOVING the H2A's... hotter than the Rev Set, but still have to dig a little... these EMG passives and really making me want to swap out all of the active EMG's on my guitars and make them all EMG passive! Anyone else get jazzed by passives after years of active pickups?

At any rate, enjoy the view!

I always wante to try these. I didn't try the H1A's, but I thought the H1's were much better than the H4/H4A/H3 I tried.

I think the problem with passive EMG's is people expect them to sound like their active counterparts. I mean, after all, the H4 is supposed to be the passive 81 and the H3 the passive 60. But they certainly are nothing like that. No physical way they can be while having fully charged magnets, coils wound to different specs, and no preamps at all.

Also, the H2's are kind of the standout ones because they're the only ones wound to different specs than the rest. All of the other H1/H3/H4 and their Alnico variantas are wound to the same specs. I guess what varies is the coil structure (poles vs. blades) and the magnets they use for the A versions.

Yes... TOTALLY different beast... if you want super high output, with some rich detail, and wonderous thunder, definitely grab the Het Set. It's a monster for sure. But the H2A's are so woody and smooth... they make me play SO differently (like the Rev Set), but brutal in a different way that is equally delightful... SO glad I got them.
