Pretty hard to find a long plate that works in high-gainers, though, because of the microphincs.
I don't doubt some tubes can handle it. But statistically, you have to buy more to find the right one.
The JJ ECC803S could sound nice in V1, but I think the Sovtek LPS is way too tubby-sounding for that position. Haven't tried anything NOS, TBH. But not really interested either, especially considering you'd still have buy a bunch to find the right one in the microphonics department.

I have always dug the Tung-Sol 12ax7 RI and really like the JJ ECC803S Long plate. Not a fan of JJ Tubes otherwise.

I like the Tung Sols as well, but I've had a number of issues with newer ones in cathode follower spots.

Tong Sols and I think EHX can`t handle the cathode follower position. They tend to fail

Pretty much none of the New Sensor 12AX7's except the Sovtek WA/WB/WC can. Don't know about the new EH 7025's.
