My apologies if you see this in another forum. I've done quite a bit of searching and found that not a lot of people use these pedals the way I am interested in. I own an early Shiba Drive and use it as a neck pickup lead boost. I don't really love it in any other application but the way it handles the bass and adds just the right upper frequencys on sustained notes is perfect. It adds this "halo" around the note that I love with a strat and to a lesser degree with my Les Paul.
I'm building a new (and overly ambitious) board. The idea of the top/rear jacks on the J. Rockett stuff is desirable for this build. I own an Archer and love it so I'm sure the Blue Note sounds great as a low gainer, but I'm wondering is anyone has used both as a lead boost into an already overdriven amp and has that experience to compare. Trying out pedals at a music store is always a disappointment as you can rarely get the amp up where you want it. A lot of these pedals sound awesome at low volume but not so much as the level you would use in a rehearsal or a gig.
