Simple Clean and Pedals?

Hey Guys,

I have a BE100 and 4x12 inbound from Brad. I know the great tones available from the BE and HBE sides, but how does the simple clean take pedals? Does anyone have experience with that?

Tell me you didn't buy a BE-100 to be a pedal platform...... :shocked:

No, of course not. I was just curious how the simple clean took pedals.
 
The clean takes pedals great unless you're talking overdrives, which I've tried many, and it's just ok in that department. Chorus, delay, ect. sound fantastic though.
 
I threw a foxrox cc hybrid fuzz on the clean channel and it sounds great for hendrix tones...can use the volume to get a cleanish tone with a tad of grit. I would say it takes pedals very well and is an excellent platform to build on.

My Bogner Red and Cusack Screamer Fuzz both sound great through the BE clean.
 
Hi todd could you post a clip of the red through the clean channel. Have been wondering about this combo myself.

Is the BE still available with the Full Clean (Fender circuit) as a custom option? That would be the way to go for me...
 
Through the simple clean the results vary depending on the OD/Distortion pedal being used.
 
Works great! pretty neutral sounding and super clean. I like running a Plexitone into it.
 
The full clean on my Marsha has incredible headroom...it's made to stay clean. I can get much more gain out of a cranked Twin than I can by diming the clean channel. Because of that, I would say any pedals that you would normally use to juice an already clipping signal won't sound that great. That said, any overdrive/distortion pedal that has it's own voice (like a Wampler Triple Wreck or Bogner Uber pedal) and works well with a completely clean tone sounds great through the full clean channel and allows you to add a different voicing than you would have with the BE/HBE channel.
The BE channel covers all of those "in between" tones on its own simply by using your guitar's volume knob so you don't need to use the clean channel for that purpose.
