Hi guys

I have a BE100 with the simple clean & 2 sets of inputs (BE + HBE). I just noticed over the weekend, if i pull the guitar out of the BE input & plug into the HBE input, there appears to be difference in volume when using the simple clean channel. The HBE is obviously louder.

Has anyone else experienced this, and is this caused by different gain structures in the BE/HBE inputs?

Thanks

I don't have a BE100, but I think its to do with having one less gainstage or preamp tube in the circuit. One of the amp builders will probably chime in shortly.

Could be completely wrong but I think the simple clean is different depending on which channel you plug into ... I have the same BE version as you.

On that old of a amp yes the HBE input is a boost stage to the whole amp including the simple clean. Hope that answers the question.

Cheers & thanks again Dave. I thought that might be the case - great to hear it confirmed!

:)
