What's the best hum Bucker for both bridge and neck on a Tele?

think some DiMarzio are ok but they look odd - like the look of regular tele pups

I tried a Lil '59 and while it did roar, it had no subtlety. Very one-trick pony with no cleans.

I have a Tele with SD Hot Rails in the Bridge and a Lil 59 in the neck. Love it but it doesn't sound anything like a Tele! Flat out in your face RnR machine.

Kramerman that's what I'm looking for not much of a twang guy! Are they both traditional Tele sized? I don't want to do any routing..

Well, then you are also looking for the '59 in the bridge that I mentioned.....

If you go with a single coil space humbuckers, I would make the volume and tones push-pulls so you can switch between series and parallel. The series mode will give you the humbucker sound and the parallel will give you a fat single sound. I have tried this with a hot rails and JB Jr in strats and its a nice option, one that I use all the time....

I agree. Go with the 59. I've had the Hot Rails, Lil 59, EMG, Area T, GFS Fatbody, Fralin SP42, Fralin Blues Special, and stock Fender all in my tele. The 59 does not sound like a tele, but it does have some beef and grind to it. I liked it more than the Hot Rail as the Hot Rail was over the top, but not in the best way. Lil 59 sounded bigger and badder.

GFS Fatbody neck is a great tele neck pickuop and cheap too. If you want full out humbucker in there I think SD makes a small Hot Rail that will fit with no routing. If you can, get a pickguard with a regualr single coil cutout for the neck. That way it opens up the neck pickup to all sorts of options. See if a single coil will fit in your route first. If not, it may just take a little bit of hacking to get one in there.

Thanks guys! Think I'm going with the lil 59 bridge and keeping a David Allen Cheetah in the neck

That's a great idea, and something I should have done. Will keep for future use!
