So… after an (end of summer ☹️) pool day, we went home and fed Sir Elliott his normal dinner. All good. After dinner poop time 😆. Let him out to do his business and he comes in all fired up. Rubbing his face on the couch, cushions, whatever he can find. Prancing, acting super agitated. I’m worried, so I pet him and, almost instantly, my hand and wrist start itching. I don’t know what he got in to (same yard, fenced, nothing new…), but he’s clearly struggling. I gave him a Benadryl in a piece of bread with peanut butter. He’s settling down, but damn 😕. I love my pup

Pesticides?

I almost lost a female Boxer when I was a kid. She hoed into a bag of granular fertiliser that had been sitting alongside a veggie garden. The thick-plastic bag was folded-over, as you do, but she ate through it. I tasted it out of curiosity and still remember what it tasted like. Classic alkaline taste, a lot like bicarb.

I was too-young to remember the deets but I'm guessing she had her stomach pumped. Hospital said it was touch-and-go but thank God she pulled through.

Hope Sir Elliot recovers OK bro'.

He’s fine this morning. Not sure what caused it. I took a good look and there is nothing new or different in the yard. 🤷

That's a relief.

The logical assumption IMHO is that he ate something that didn't agree with him, be it something in the house or the yard.

Maybe… Though he didn’t seem to have any stomach issues. It was all about a “surface” or allergic skin response. Almost entirely on his face/ neck. I had the same reaction after petting him. Just weird. An agitated pup that weighs near 140 pounds is a handful…

Good point.

Heck, maybe a passer-by or neighbour sprayed him with, again, a pesticide or sumpin'?

Might not have been intentional.
