YEP. My first concert was Van Halen in 1978 on their first headlining tour. Great time to be a teenager.

I like both albums equally. Ladies Night in Buffalo and Hina being my favorites off each respectively.

I use to think Eat em and smile was the better record but now realize they both were stellar. Vai knew he had to bring it so his playing was insane..

Agree with previous post that DLR Vai is apex Vai. EEAS was more rock, Skyscraper was more Zappa/progressive. I dig stuff off SS, but EEAS was very original and actually gave VH a legitimate run for their money. That was a ferocious album. And fun. I’m not a huge Vai fan either. It’s the Zappa. I respect Zappa, but I can only take him in small doses.
