It will work just mentioning it. Didn't want you stuck with 16ohm Creambacks.

I'd do the x-pattern and wire the cab series-parallel 8ohm mono,,,,,,,but that is because I have no need for stereo, and it's much simpler since you don't need anything more than the wire and a good mono jack. Plus all my other cabs are 8ohms, so it makes combining cabs still a perfect match for the amps.

Everyone's situation is different though. Nothing wrong at all about leaving it stereo.

I wish! I'd love a Quickrod or even a Competition but I've never had the honor. Lynchbacks and m65 creambacks I like, but since you find v30 and greenbacks both to be too harsh in the highs you might also consider redbacks.

You can probably just use the existing wiring of the cab and just relabel it to 8ohm mono/4ohms stereo. I just prefer mono-only myself if I'm redoing the wiring or giving it the all heavy-duty overhaul.

I'm about to buy a new 4x12. Because we don't have any reseller of Splawn in Sweden I need to get a Marshall 1960 instead. Should I go with the slant or straight, 1960 vintage or normal? My amp is a Quickrod 100 2014. I'm a sucker for Lynch and DeMartini and alike from the 80's.

I made the same research as You. At the end I bought straight 4x12 cabinet with heritage celestion greenback (55 Hz) speakers. Marshall 1960BHW.

No, Splawn on the website offer for their cabinets Celestion Greenback G12M speakers, which are not identical with Heritage Series G12H(55).

The real deal is Celestion G12H(55) with straight cabinet.
