Small 1x8 Combo tube amp recommendation

Hey All,

I'm currently @ college and doing a good deal of ensemble work etc., and was wondering if anyone knew of a good 1x8 combo or something, it doesn't really need to be very loud because most of the time we don't play with drummers and if we do they use brushes or those sticks that are quieter I can't recall their name.

Anyway, I'm looking for something that's preferably light weight and small hence the 1x8 and all tube, I find personally when I've played on solid state that after a while I get sloppy and for some reason it covers up a lot of mistakes and doesn't take the same playing if that makes any sense?

Seriously check out a line 6 Spider Jam. Not tube, but a REALLY versatile amp. Drum loops, jam tracks, etc. I bought one for my son, and I play it more than he does :D
 
+1 on the spyderjam. Great practice tool and sounds decent at low volumes. Love mine.

Really depends on what you play on it. My favorite little combo is Dr Z Mini Z, out of production now, but can be found used.
 
I think it's a 1x10, and it's pretty pricey, but a Carr Raleigh would fit the bill and sounds fantastic! Just mho of course.

the combo? or the head and the combo? I still see the heads available new on some sites.

the combo. now they have a head.
 
Its a 1X10" combo, but from the clips it sounds pretty cool. I hope they get the rattling issue figured out soon.

Good call on the class 5 I totally forgot about that amp!

All of those are tube with classic break up. I had a GA-5 I never should have sold, great with pedals.

The modeling amps like the Vox ad series, Roland Cube, Spider, or Fender G-dec are all good options, especially the ones that let you plug in an ipod or cd player.
