Any decent explorer types that are a little smaller? I know Gibson did a run but they’re hard to find. Other than the melody maker line I haven’t seen much but those seem interesting…just wish they hard the normal headstock.

I’m open to all brands as long as they’re Gibson scale

Gibson did a few like the xpl and explorer 90 in the 80s and x-plorer pro in the 2000s. There's the ibanez destroyer, LTD thing amabob, jackson kelly, Aria Pro II made some as well. I feel like I've seen a carvin explorer.

I forget what year but I once had a Explorer Pro it was a smaller explorer it had a flamed Tobacco Burst top. Killer guitar wish I had not sold it.

Yeah in the early 2010’s I barely missed getting one of these twice on ebay for less than 1k. It still hurts at times.

You do still see these every once in a while for sale but they want a whole lot for them.

Excellent suggestions

Anyone mess with the solar explorer types? Seems to be standard size but nice body sculpting. But no clue what their necks are like.

I played a V solar and is a C shaped neck- fender-ish. not a ibanez shredder

While less pointy and more in the Gibson RD camp.. Dunable R2's share some similarities and are killer guitars for the money.

Dommenget --He builds them for Matthias Jabs.
I have single cut guitar from Mr. Dommenget. He is one of the best Luthier current time. He is using very old air dried woods, old building techniques, no CNC, real nitro and own pickups. Working together with the Master was one of my greatest experience in my music history.
