So bands breaking up thinking about going axe-fx...

Can't lose with the axefx.......my only problem is that I want to keep trying different power amps thru it.....

Currently have a Mesa 2:90 staring at me that a friend lent me.....besides the other two power amps I already have......

Well i wont be using it with a power amp for awhile when i do start getting into poweramps im debating about the boogie 2:90 or vht 2/90/2

I got a VHT tube power amp for the axe and realized it was a mistake as Cliff has programmed in tons of different power amp sims. For $399 you can get a 1500 watt Carvin 1540L solid State power amp that works great, does not color the model and weighs 40 lbs less. Thats what Cliff from Fractal uses and I have one on the way as well.

I will finally be in the position to spend some money on gear and have been all jacked up about picking up a nice tube rig again but I keep reading these f'ing Axe threads and wonder if I shouldn't just go that route. I am not in a band right now and probably won't be for a while and can't really play loud in my current living situation either. I have been using a Tonelab LE with headphones for most of the last two years.

Thinking that or the art sla2 that samhill's got
Carvin is like 20 min away from where i live though...
