Agreed, however, I could deal with the "Modded" idea. The only thing stopping me is the gold floyd and the last trace of sanity I have left that is telling me I don't need any more guitars.

Steve

Sanity? You're obviously having delusions too because you have no last traces of sanity.
Saner than you...

Dave and barzini are right though, the single hum was the popular config in the early 80's and that is the classic setup.

But if the San Dimas wasn't as popular as the So Cal because it was "too 80's" then why would a single hum, which is TOTALLY 80's, sell any better than the SD?

Ahm jes' axin'.

I am just going to take another oppurtunity to bitch about the way Charvel custom shop will no longer let you do "Artist Similar" guitars.

No Jake E Lee or Green Meanie spec'd custom orders, mention anything about a artist when you are getting a CS quote and they will turn it down.

In fact they went as far as to make a guideline that 3 major non reversible specs have to be changed on a order to make sure it cant later be converted to a "artist similar" Charvel. :gethim:

How would you explain the slime green So Cal in the 8th batch that is just begging to be green meanie'd? ;)

My understanding is that they are trying to keep their options open with these artists in the hopes of creating sig models with these guitarists. If all the guys that would buy a Jake signature are able to just do one now from the custom shop, if jake ever comes around and agrees to sign on, there's not going to be that many buyers left. That's what I have been told at least.

And it's amazing that Jake isn't interested in doing a sig model with Charvel. What else does the guy have going on? is actually getting a paycheck every once in a while that much of a hassle for him?

He could have it set up direct deposit and not even have to leave the house.

Hey that gig hosting the 80s night at the dive bar in Vegas is more than paying the rent at the trailer park! Bet Charvel could get him to sign on for a sig model for an eight-ball o' crystal methedrine...

He currently is signed with ESP of Japan, but the guitars are ONLY for the Japanese market. I think they already ended production on those.

I know he had a deal in the 90's but I am talking about a run of Jake E Lees they did for 2009 because they were all over Digimart last year.

Curt, I was a Porsche nut in the early 80s while everyone else was yelling mustang, camaro, etc........for years I regarded the 959 the greatest engineering feat ever in regards to autos and still love the old 935 shark noses. During Risky Business I almost cried when that 928 S4 went into the drink   To this day I think the first 911 turbos are the ultimate thrill machines due to their crazy tail out antics.

If Germany had listened to Dr Porsche regarding tanks and making one platform they would have had a better chance, 10 broken tanks and they could only salvage 1 or 2 due to all the different models.

Never drove a real ferrari, drove a 328 once but it was a pig and no magic was involved

Okokokokok..............your off the sucks ass list, forgot about that added weight

Agreed about the slime so-cal, some new parts and you DO have a green meanie through and through.

Aloha, Rob.

Nice Rob! I see twin plug baby! I haven't had one of my motors out in a while. I got to the point where if the 14 quarts of oil were drained I could have the motor and trans out in an hour. I need to pull the motor out of my '70 but a rebuild is as much as a year at UCLA and with kids I start thinking these strange, mature, unselfish thoughts. ;)

What are we looking at there?

Was a stock 3.2, then found a broken head stud, then found 2 cracked heads amongst a host of other crap, all from a previous owner being a cheap ass. Note: Don't let chronics rebuild your motor people. If they look/act sketchy run away.
So I rebuilt it into a 3.7, carbs, twin plug, 10.5:1 CR, cams, race headers, lsd, custom flowmaster, etc...
Working on finishing the fuel lines and a little wiring and I can throw it back in. Should have a little kick to it.
Of course that guitar I bought from you has been distracting me from this a bit. :D

Oh yeah and Charvel dropped the ball when they discontinued these.

Do you do the rebuilds yourself? If so, you are a brave, brave man. That thing is going to scoot.

As far as Charvel goes, it will be interesting to see what's next but I guarantee this. There will be nothing with the same features as this for the same price.

Yup everything except the machine shop work. Couldn't afford it any other way. Ill put up a photo page of the build when I'm done. Lots of fab work brackets, exhaust, etc... Car porn.
Carbs, race headers, and straight through exhaust. Time to give those Harley riders on my street some payback at 4AM!

I thought this thread was about Charvels? Vehicles are not relevant! :D

That flat black wild card is KILLING ME!!!!!! I want one so bad, but I'm not buying any more guitars... I'd trade my Blood Splatter for one though! :poke:
