2 down, 1 to go! I can almost taste it!

I already got the okay from the wife to buy the VH4 even though I haven't sold the Mark V. I don't think that the Mark V should be too hard to sell at a decent price.

VH4 shopping for me!

Congrats! Yea, I was never the biggest fan of the Mark V, but they have a good resell price, so should have no problem.

I got rid of the Mark V for my VH4, never look at Mesa stuff anymore. At least not seriously.

The only current Mesa amp I would look at in the future would be the Electra Dyne combo. Seems versatile enough and small enough to carry around.

I have had lots of inquiries but nobody committing to buy it yet. Soon enough it will sell.

I had the pleasure of recording a couple tracks last week with a Diezel VH4 and my Mark IV for the majority of the guitar parts.

If I had to have one of these amps, it would be the VH4 because of the insane amount of ground it can cover. What an amazing work of art that amp is! Crystal-clear, responsive tones with a unique tone all its own.

That said, I used my Mark IV when it came time to play my lead. I LOVE the Mark on leads and wouldn't trade that tone. It sings and has an organic natural quality, while the Diezel is 3D and super defined. Needless to say, I want a VH4. Still need to play the rest of the Diezel lineup as well.
Congrats to the OP!

I actually paid for a VH4 tonight. I can't wait for it to arrive.

I used to own a Mark IV and channel 3 on the Mark IV was magical. I haven't found another amp that can get close to the Mark IV for leads. I think I'm going to have to pick up a Mark IV again in the future.

It will be the longest wait of your life (not really, but it will feel like it). But will totally be worth it!

And I hear ya with the Mark IV ch.3. I love it for leads, sounds so great, but overall the VH4 smokes it! When I used the Mark IV by itself or with another amp live, Im actually a big ch.2 user, ch.3 is pretty much strictly for leads.

I've gotta get me another... Mono version this time

And a D-Moll

Congrats on your VH4!! I have to say I am a bit jealous, since that's the one of the big 3 that I DON'T have. Have had Herbert for a while, my main amp, and have had Hagen for a bit too.

Absolutely love my Diezels amps, cabs too!! I still have others, but they just don't get the playing time anymore. Having a hard time letting go though.

Enjoy, you have a lot of power there!!

How does the VH4s compare to the VH4 Ventura?

I HAD a Mark V... I HAVE a VH4... Get the picture?

I had a Mark V for a bit. Not bad but finicky to dial in, and a pain in the ass to get to the preamp tubes without removing the chassis. Horrible design in that respect in my opinion

Having had both, and actually really liking the stereo capabilities of the VH4S, I liked the straight forwardness of the VH4. Now that I've got a killer splitter (Lehle S-go-S) I can manage all my stereo effects with different heads. So - which one sounds better to me? I like the response and attack and feel of the mono. 100W block instead of 2x50W blocks.

That being said the VH4S is an amazing amp that can easily create a "wall of sound" by powering two cabs (or more) and having the capability to work nicely with stereo effects (eventide, in particular).

Is this result at loud, gig volumes?

At both (gig or jam, or even lower practice levels). The VH4 with the mono 100W takes more volume to get lively and break up...obviously, more so than 2x50W sections which break up a bit sooner. But the built in 50W + 50W in the VH4S is very helpful as a one shot stereo deal. Awesome head for many purposes.

Hope this helps.

I guess with the 50/50 stereo, there are more variables that contribute to the feel of the amp. A lot to consider.

Exactly. Albeit it's definitely a "V", there are most certainly sonic variables betwixt the mono and the stereo heads. I liked the response of the mono 100W better. It was just, for me, better. Stiffer and more blatant - and this may be a plus to some, to others maybe not so much. The panning and dual cab dealio with delay and phase and the like killed in the "S". But I use less FX than ever before, so a straight up 100W of facemelt is more where it's at for me.
