I heard they will not be doing these right now...

I hope I heard wrong. Any one have a official update.

the shark channel is completley gutted and a mid knob is added. its on hold right now as they are trying to figure out how to make it quieter. They still have mine and ill get it later this week. its been a long process as its not high on their priority list

isn't it just an extra mid knob?

Lets just put it this way it makes the Shark channel usable if you are Jerry Cantrell.

well, I think a mid knob and a less scooped slope resistor would make it very usable for anyone
the shark shannel is similar to the strato, but with a lot more gain from the first stage and a very scooped EQ and a low value for the fixed mid "control"
this makes it sound harsh and thin
fixing this would be more than enough
maybe they swap something else, like reducing some coupling capacitor to make it even more mid focused
three $0.08 components can do wonders
no magic powder, though

old topic, but is there any progress being made on whether this will be available and how much it will cost?

so, if this ever could happen, how much would it cost, approximately.?

I paid $600 for the mods I had done, most of which was for the Cantrell mod.

How do you like the changes?

Cantrell mod is pretty friggin' cool. Much heavier and I like being able to dial in the mids. The other change I made was to bypass the Strato channel, and have 2 Brown Channels. I like the Brown channel more and I wasn't able to come to a happy compromise with the shared EQ between the 2. So, now I have 2 brown channels with separate gains and volumes. Much better for me.
