on a 25.5" scale.
cant tell if i like it yet, but holy hell is it percussive, more balls and the notes just sound more full. i can see what people say who play 9's and get the weak qwack going on, all in opinion as to which side is better but 11's really bring out something that 10's hint at but arent quite there. i do agree 9's allow you to be more responsive in your playing, but heavier gauges allow you to bring out the best in your technique. no wonder stevie used 13's.
rhythm's are much more fun to play, and vertical runs are much easier to pull off going down the neck using strict alternate picking, for some reason the heavier gauge makes it easier to do this, you would think it would be the other way around
anyone on the verge of thinking 11-52's over their current 10's should go for it. you loose some of the wild vibrato capabilities IMHO but gain alot more in other areas of your playing. definitely sounds more modern.
