My ears are ringing, I'm drunk as hell off of overpriced, shitty beer...but it was worth it :) Great show. Mix of Death Magnetic and pre-Load tracks (with the exception of Fuel). Set list was good but not great- at least it had Creeping Death. The surprise track of the evening was "Frayed ends of sanity," wasn't expecting to hear that one. Tone wasn't that great either, but we were in the 300s so the soundmen probably had everything tuned for the 100 zone. Lamb of god opened with a decent set but the shitty mix was hard on the ears- at least Chris Adler is always fun to watch!

All the show did was reinforce my belief that James Hetfield is one of the greatest guitarists and frontmen ever....and that Kirk Hammettt should be beaten over the head with his wah pedal until he stops using itt. I started laughing halfway through one of his solos because it made me think of the teacher in Charlie Brown.

Pics to follow, gotta go to bed so I can make it to work tomorrow. That's gonna be rough. Oye......

g'night boys

Yeah everybody talks shit about them being old nowadays, but I went to a metallica show in February (? I think?) and I was blown away. I just wasn't expecting them to still "have it". James has definitely lost something off of his voice but it's not really that bad and he's still got some outrageous chops. Kirks in love his wah as always but why change now after 25 years? I'd say it was one of the better concerts I've been to (top 5) with the reigning champ being TOOL at the Palace in 2001. Aahhh the lateralus tour...........

I wouldn't be able to sit through a set of Metallica because of Hamsters wah wanking.

frayed ends of sanity?

pure fucking win. damn, i was going to see them in ATL in Oct but decided not to.

When I went he used the damn wah on 14 out of 16 solos. I don't know what his obsession is with that thing but its one of the main reasons why I don't go near one.

Show was good but I thought Mark Morton's tone was far superior.

Metallica still brings it live IMO. Kirk is annoying, but James has the same chops he's always had, and a cool on stage persona.

I haven't seen them since I met them in 2004. They were really cool guys too, which was awesome. Talked to James and Rob for about 10 minutes, Lars for about 5 or so. Was very cool.

I saw them in toronto a week or so ago...

and was rather disappointed.. i was more interested in the rigging of the PA and Lights then the show... :(

i had much more fun at Collective soul last night
